Roggen is a style that is almost extinct in Germany. Very few breweries produce this specialty. The Baron Roggen is similar to the few remaining examples of the style. It is pale, golden in color with a tinge of copper / amber. The taste is full of wheat and rye with a crisp clean finish that doesn't linger, proving that a full bodied beer can still be extremely light and drinkable.

The Baron Dampf bier is our revival of an old Bavarian style of beer.  Currently there are only a few known breweries in Germany who continue to make this kind of beer.  The Dampf is a pale light ale that is lagered.  There is a soft aroma of fresh grain with a perceptible hop overtone and slight fruit.  The body is light, but firm in flavor.  The finish is layered with malt, subtle fruit and clean bitterness that rounds out the sweetness.

The Liberator is a deep amber to dark brown colored beer with a rich and complex malty flavor. It has a touch of roast character and no hop flavor. The hop bitterness is generally only high enough to balance the malt flavors to allow moderate sweetness in the finish. This is a Bavarian specialty that is most closely associated with serving in the Winter and Spring Seasons.  We age the Liberator for a full 5 months before releasing it, guaranteeing a smooth clean beer.

The Baron Rauchbier is a German style smoked beer that is most commonly found in Bamberg.  80% of the malt used is smoked with Beechwood.  There is a very nice mellow sweetness from the malt that is counter-balanced with the campfire smokiness from the smoked malt.  The aroma has a blast of smoke that is headed off by malt sweetness and subtle hoppiness in the finish.  A very unique beer that is an example of an old style.

The Baron Berliner Weisse was a great example of the style.  This wheat ale had a subtle bite of wheat with a noticeable sweetness that was all offset by a clean super tart finish.  The Berliner-Weisse came with your choice of Raspberry or Woodruff syrups to mix, but most people enjoyed it with nothing added.
